The Logitech G502 Lightspeed gaming mouse is a new and improved wireless version of Logitech’s well-known G502 Hero mouse. The decision to go wireless might be shocking to some gamers, but it bears no shock at all for some of us.
Many fervent gamers might argue that there was no need for the company to go wireless and remain steadfast supporters of the corded G502 Hero.
The Lightspeed, however, does not disappoint and offers many great features like powerful performance and exceptional battery life.

For one, the Lightspeed is a bit bulkier but slightly less heavy than the wired G502. It does, however, come with 16 grams of additional weights for you to customize to your preference.
Design
If you’ve already been a loyal user of the wired G502, you’ve likely grown accustomed to its design. For some unfamiliar users, however, its unconventional design may be a deterrent.
In addition, the scroll wheel can feel relatively light and cheap without much heft to it, a feature that can substantially impact the quality of your mouse usage.
Size
While ergonomically designed, the Lightspeed may be too big for small to medium-sized hands.

For gamers who welcome wireless gaming development, purchasing the G502 Lightspeed together with the PowerPlay may be worth the expense. Although, even without the mat, the G502’s battery life can run for up to 48 hours (60 with the lighting off) when charged by its USB.
For those comfortable with a wired mouse, the original G502 is pretty consistent and will just as well get the job done.

There are 11 buttons across the mouse, all of which you can configure using the G Hub software. G Hub also lets you customize your DPI presets to control lighting and program a secondary set of commands known as G-shift. You get access to these by holding down any of the buttons you choose.
You can set up several profiles for the DPI presets, and each preset can be tuned from 100 to 16,000 DPI. If you want to instantly adjust the DPI speeds or the polling rate (the rate at which the mouse reports information to your computer), that can also be achieved in the settings.
